“Regular Checkups Make Good Sense”

Most people would not think of never servicing their automobile until it dies on the road, yet many people take this approach concerning their teeth. Your teeth, like your car, need routine service at regular intervals to prevent problems and insuring trouble free performance.

Most dental problems that occur can be treated conservatively if diagnosed early. Annual or semi-annual examinations can almost assure that cavities or other dental pathology does not become severe before being corrected.

Usually, when a person experiences symptoms in a tooth, it means a cavity or other problem has progressed substantially and will require more extensive (i.e. expensive) therapy. If a patient waits until they have significant pain in a tooth, they can probably anticipate either a root canal or an extraction. From an economic standpoint, it is far more costly to wait for symptoms to occur than to get regular checkups, not to mention the pain involved. Other factors such as lost work days further compound the issue.

Your teeth are an important part of your body, and deserve respect and attention to prevent their deterioration and loss. Regular check-ups are the best way to minimize the pain, suffering, and expense of dental problems.
