Drug - Medication

Where do you keep your medicine?

Although bathrooms often contain medicine cabinets, they're one of the worst places to keep medications. Moisture and heat from showers and baths can cause some drugs to breakdown, or may alter the composition of a particular dosage form. Medications should not be routinely stored in the refrigerator or freezer unless specifically recommended for the particular drug or preparation.

It is also bad to leave medications in a car where temperatures can change dramatically. Most medications are meant to be stored at room temperature, 59 to 86?F. It is best to store medications in cool, dry dark places, out of direct sunlight, such as a bedroom closet, drawer or kitchen cabinet away from windows and the dishwasher.

Keep medications in their original container, with child-resistent cap, and tightly sealed to protect from moisture.
